Church and to the Airport

We attended Calvary Free Pentecostal Church this morning. It was a wonderful, moving service. They presented us with gifts of more African clothes made of the traditional Sierra Leone Cottage Cloth. We feel so undeserving of all the gifts we have received.

Augustine, Samuel and Alimatu came to say goodbye at the airport. We drive to the ferry and have a pleasant ride across the water to Lungi. We had a nice lunch of fish and chips. I am still getting used to having the whole fish on my plate and having to pick through the bones!

It was pretty teary at the airport. So hard to say goodbye!

We are thankful your trip was safe and so very moving and special. God truly went before you, surrounding you with His love and protection. Your friends there are indeed beautiful in all ways. Their smiles bring joy.
I was surprised to see no one wearing masks, but maybe it is not a concern for them. You will have to tell us how they are managing with the pandemic. The statistics do not look good there, but I am sure it changes depending on which part of the country you are in. I am certain you are praying for their protection from the virus. It would be a concern for me, but I know they have to cope with many diseases and dangers.
We eagerly await to hear you are safely home. It will be fun to see your African wardrobe! We will need a fashion show.
You will have such wonderful memories and will be able to relive them through all of the brillant and touching photos which Tim took.
Thank you for the blog. We were so blessed by reading it.
    At His Feet,
    Holly and Brent

Sierra Leone is very low risk for Covid. CDC gave them a low risk rating. Masks are worn sporadically. Mostly not. Even in the airport, the security staff didn’t have masks or wore them incorrectly. We were never concerned.
It is funny as we we’re driving, there would be checkpoints requiring masks in the car. We would put them on for the drive through and remove them again. It is more for a way for the police to make money since they are paid so poorly. It is a different world over here. 😁
